“Oh.” She attempted to calm herself. “I’m just.. Suprised.” Shocked. Amazed. All words to describe how she felt. She was almost embarrassed at how she was acting, but at least she wasn’t faking anything. She wasn’t being overly happy or excited. She was being typical Allison.Allison smiled. Josh always had the right thing to say, to make her feel less awkward. A blush bloomed on her cheeks as he winked. She winked back, “You’re still taller.” In her district, she was considered tall, because most families lacked nutrients necessary for proper growth, the food shortages toiling on them. Allison’s family had been a major grain supplier, but still, never had enough. They just had more.Allison instantly felt her fingers shaking in shock. There was no way. Josh couldn’t like her. She was nothing special, she had nothing going for her. But yet, she was in his arms, their bodies close together, a happiness in her heart that she had never felt before. “I kind of guessed that..” She whispered softly, smiling. His face was half lit by the moonlight, patches dark where the leaves from the tree blocked the light. She moved her hand to brush his cheek softly, her eyes staring into his.
” Just a tad bit taller “ he stuck his tongue out at her. However he noticed she was a bit nervous. ” Hey relax why are you shaking ?” Josh was worried he did something wrong. He held her in his arms as she whispered in his ear. ” I hope I wasn’t too obvious.” he giggled in a sarcastic tone. Though it was a tab bit dark in the cave the moon light was perfect. He felt her brush his cheek he caught her gaze. The reflection of the moon brought out the color of her eyes. “ Your eyes are just as amazing as you.” The night was perfect Josh wanted to freeze time and just stay here for ever. Sadly he knew it couldn’t stay like this forever.
“Well, if kissing me wasn’t enough to prove it, I don’t know what would be..” She laughed softly, careful to keep her voice low. Allison knew that even in a moment like this, you could never be too careful. Especially in the arena.
The blonde rolled her eyes. ”Seeing as how I’m not that amazing..” Allison trailed off, attempting to find the right words. “I’m not sure if I should take that as a compliment..” A small smirk drew up her lips. “But if you think I’m all that great, I’ll just say ‘Thank You..’” She sighed happily, holding him closer.
